Just A Thought (From One of My Papers)

It is ironic that the emphasis on personal development in Christianity to the expense of the objective forgiveness of sin reduces Christianity to an ancient societal preservation program, rendering it impotent and indistinguishable from other religions that are societal preservation programs. Rational human thought then dismisses yet another ancient “superstition” and finds itself with no final arbiter. An impotent Christianity “kills” God, muddies objective truth, and creates an environment ripe for nihilism. It is this environment of nihilism that creates Nietzsche’s superman, the person who is able to exert his or her will on others without the encumbrance of an objective morality.

You people don’t understand at all, do you? God wants us to be happy because he is a good God, right? Well, we can’t be happy with all that icky sin and blood and suffering stuff, now can we? What we need is help in improving ourselves and in seeing our inner goodness. It’s time your type learned that you can’t pull in the crowds with hand-wringing and hard thinking. Stop your negativity, relax, let go and let God, and ask WWJD.
Have a blessed day,

Oh David, when will you learn? With a mullet, a big toothy grin and 7 easy (they have to be easy) steps to (insert idol here), you too can rule the world! The hypnotically revolving world. Aren't they teaching you anything useful up there?
peace,
