David, have you seen The Good German? While not exactly a remake of 3rd Man, it is an obvious homage to it, but seriously flawed. The ending tries hamfistedly - if that's the word I want - to replicate the final scene in Casablanca, and comes off looking like a bad TV commercial.
But I'll go out on a limb and say I like 3rd Man better than Citizen Kane. How about that? Gaston

I agree totally about The Third Man. I think it is better than Citizen Kane which is a pretty strong statement. There is a lot of Kierkegaard to The Third Man primarily due to the praising of the individual over the collective.
