Changed Name

I have changed my blog name due to the fact that I was bored with the old one. The new name is a playful swipe at those who believe that a person is ontologically changed at ordination.

David, this is a new one for me. I was simply not aware that anyone believed a candidate's very being to be changed at ordination, and I am both fascinated and repelled by such sacerdotal nonsense. What is the nature of this alleged change? How is it supposed to be different from (in addition to?) What is described in Ephesians 2 as a change of ontos from dead (v. 1, 5) to alive?

Well, you hit the nail on the head when you call it nonsense. The tradition in your old church (the RC) holds fast to this idea of ontological change.

The apostolic succession apparently carries with it this ontological goo that is passed down through the generations. The goo enables you to be a mediator between God and man and enables one to turn wine into blood, etc.

Again, I agree with you that the only ontological change is going from death to life. From guilt to absolution.
